This popular local fair and rodeo had its beginnings in Benton County in 1948, with the rodeo added the following year. It wasn’t until 1954 that Benton and Franklin counties combined forces to become the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo. Attendance that year jumped to 40,000 and a new commercial exhibit building was added.

The fair famously didn’t charge admission until 1957, when it began charging 50 cents. In 1966 The State Fair Association ranked the Benton Franklin Fair as one of the top in the state as attendance continued to grow.

Today the fair attracts more than 120,000 attendees every August during the 5-day event and continues to draw in big name artists, like Willie Nelson, Wayne Newton, Pat Benatar, Cheap Trick, the Beach Boys, and more.

The Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo kicks off “The Best Week of Summer” today, August 25th, and events continue through August 29th. To purchase tickets for the Fair & Rodeo, visit bentonfranklinfair.ticketforce.com.
