For any Harry Potter fans out there, Christmas came early this year! J.K Rowling recently announced that she will be a co-producer on a new stage play based on her “Harry Potter” stories. Rowling will collaborate with theatre producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender.
"Over the years I have received countless approaches about turning Harry Potter into a theatrical production, but Sonia and Colin’s vision was the only one that really made sense to me, and which had the sensitivity, intensity and intimacy I thought appropriate for bringing Harry's story to the stage," Rowling said in a statement.
Currently, writers and directors are being considered and the project is expected to move into development stages in 2014. It has been reported that the play will explore Harry’s early years, which were left un-told in the popular series.
