Each week TicketForce brings you an update on all things music, racing, theatre, and sports. This week’s #MusicWrap recognizes the popular rock band from Las Vegas Imagine Dragons, on their extreme success with the hit single “Radioactive.”

Imagine Dragons has been catapulted into stardom following the release of their debut album, “Night Visions,” the entity from which hit songs like the Billboard Hot 100 smash, “Radioactive,” are spending their record breaking 77th week on the list. This record breaks the precedent set by Jason Mraz in 2008 and 2009 with his single, “I’m Yours.” Also on the list from Imagine Dragons are singles “Demons,” and, “On Top of the World.”

“Radioactive” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 93 on August 18, 2012, and has only gone up from there. Its peak came August 3, 2013 when it was found at No. 3. With 6.6 million downloads and a Grammy Awards ceremony mashup with rapper Kendrick, it is not hard to see why “Radioactive” is a fan favorite. The group believes the popularity is partly attributed to its unique sound and the way they “blur genre lines.”

"People seem to be connecting to it in personal ways, which is exactly what we hoped for. We've been out on the road and focused on touring for a long time. Somewhere along the way, we started to realize the song was taking on a life of its own,” says lead singer Dan Reynolds.
