Here at TicketForce we are proud to have many successful clients that make up our ticketing family. We’re always looking for an excuse to share their successes and celebrate with them. Today we’d like to share Tickets Tonight’s success story on its Year of Culture campaign. Read on to learn how Tickets Tonight engaged fans through its wildly successful campaign.  

At Tickets Tonight, we strive to provide our customers with great deals on Vancouver events and comprehensive listings detailing the city’s breadth of arts and culture. There is always something going on in the local performing arts community, but sometimes finding it can take a little digging. We endeavour to act as a cultural concierge for residents and in-destination visitors to Vancouver.

We were – and still are – thrilled about our Year of Culture campaign. More than 20 of our promoter clients agreed to donate a pair of tickets to an event in 2014. A total of more than $2000 in ticketed events went to our lucky winner Elizabeth.

The contest ran from October 7 to December 31, 2013 and we had almost 2000 valid entries once the duplicates were filtered out. An opt-in feature on the contest form introduced 1100 new subscribers to our daily email service.

We advertised across our social media channels with the hashtag #yearofculture. In December, we got a push from Tourism Vancouver’s Inside Vancouver blog. One of our sponsors, the Vancouver Sun, donated digital and print ads, and we also received a shoutout on local blog Vancity Buzz.

At the Tickets Tonight booth, we promoted the contest on the back of our social media handouts – business card-sized slips of paper listing our presence on TripAdvisor, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube, and Google+. We also added a banner in rotation on the half-price listings screen at the Tickets Tonight booth, in our daily email service, and on the front page of ticketstonight.ca.

I told you we were excited!

As it turns out, Elizabeth had recently moved to Vancouver so this was a double win. She has a unique opportunity to check out a wide variety of local and touring shows along with some signature Vancouver experiences. What an introduction to her new home city! In January, she went to the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, Dine Out Vancouver, Theatre at UBC, Chor Leoni and Cavalia’s Odysseo. We think she’s off to a great start.
